Target groups/Requirements:
Exceptionally gifted students who enjoy intellectual challenges and have a genuine interest in intensive exchange with other people and cultures. Scholarship students should also, for example, be willing to deal with topics not related to their field of study.
Schools and university lecturers, among others, can nominate candidates; first-year students can also apply directly. Candidates must then successfully complete a selection test/seminar.

In addition to the relevant liaison officers, the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (SdV) is also represented at Paderborn University by its ambassadors, i.e. SdV scholarship holders currently studying at Paderborn University, who will be more than happy to answer any questions about the foundation and selection process for those interested in an SdV scholarship.

Studienfonds OWL Foundation

“Deutschlandstipendium” (Germany scholarship):
Students enrolled at one of the five state universities participating in Studienfonds OWL and sixth-formers and prospective students intending to study at one of the five universities.
The prerequisites for application are very good school or university grades and commitment to extra-curricular/external social activities.

Social Scholarship:
German and foreign students enrolled for a first degree at one of the five state universities participating in Studienfonds OWL. (Exception: Foreign students may also apply for funding for a second degree if they have completed their first degree abroad.) All sixth-formers and prospective students intending to study at one of the five universities are also eligible to apply.
The prerequisite for application for the above target group is that they can prove that they are experiencing financial or personal hardship beyond their control which threatens to compromise their ability to begin or continue their studies and that they have at least satisfactory school or university grades.

The advancement scholarship for experienced professionals is a federal grant aimed at specialists with a vocational qualification and at least two years of work experience.
