Reading stations reserved for women and security officer escort

To ensure women feel and are safe on campus even when working late in the evening, 2 reading stations are provided for them in the entrance area of the library near the information centre; these spaces are reserved exclusively for women between 8 p.m. and midnight and must be vacated for use by them during these hours.

A personal alarm, which can be quickly and easily activated in the event of danger, generating a loud sound, can also be borrowed from the library’s lending desk against deposit of a library card.

In addition, between 8 p.m. and midnight, women working or studying alone on campus can contact the “Security officer escort” service for a university security officer to escort them across campus to any campus car park or university bus stop. This service can also be requested for escort from the library at night by calling 05251 60-2499.
