Room booking for students

Our Facility Management department generally approves bookings of university rooms by students where these are to be used for the benefit of the student community. This in particular applies to events organised by AStA (the German General Students’ Committee) and the faculty student councils. Student societies and initiatives and student groups must be officially recognised by Central University Administration. These groups may use university rooms free of charge. For commercial events or when collecting entrance fees, they pay only the relevant operating costs (cleaning etc.), but no hire charge.

The Facility Management department reviews all room booking applications (see below). Courses have priority. This means that students will be granted permission to use the room they wish to book only if the schedule for the room in question allows for this. Students may book rooms for private use only in exceptional cases; in which case, both operating costs and a hire fee will be charged.

How to book a room

Fill out the room booking application form (to the application form). On the form, give a brief description of the type and nature of your event and send the completed form to the contact person Michael Stöppel (Room E5.121) 14 days before the event.
