On 25 June 2026, the ‘Long Evening of Study Guidance’ once again took place at Paderborn University. The event is aimed in particular at prospective students who wish to find out more about studying at Paderborn University. This includes those with an Abitur or entrance qualification for a university of applied sciences, or those with a specific career goal; professionally and vocationally qualified individuals without an ‘Abitur’; and those considering a change of degree subject.
The event was attended by around 40 prospective students and their families. In addition, at times around 80 pupils from the Paderborn Studienkolleg were present, accompanied by their teachers.
Between 4 pm and 7 pm, staff from the Central Student Advisory Service provided information on study options, entry requirements, academic standards and career prospects at Paderborn University. In addition, staff from the Studierendenwerk (student services association) were on hand to answer questions about funding your studies. The Support Service for Students with Disabilities provided information on counselling and support services for students with disabilities, chronic illnesses or other individual needs.
The programme included informative talks, individual counselling sessions and student-led campus tours. During the campus tours, students provided insights into everyday student life and introduced selected locations on campus. For participants who were unable or did not want to attend in person, a digital information session was also on offer.
