Autogenic training

What can I do to relax even in stressful times?
How can I stop my "thought carousel"?
What can I do to improve my performance?

Autogenic training is a method of concentrated self-relaxation that was developed in the 1920s by the Berlin doctor Johannes Heinrich Schultz (1884 - 1970). It is used for relaxation, preparation for mental or physical activities, the regulation of strong emotions such as (test) anxiety, excitement, anger or aggression and the adjustment to a peaceful sleep.

  • You learn to visualise the subjective signs of relaxation of calm, heaviness or warmth and to create a relaxed state in the body.
  • Through regular and systematic practice, you can induce this relaxation more quickly, more intensively and at will, regardless of location.

Counselling appointments can be arranged with the Central Student Advisory Service (ZSB) for an individual approach to the topic.
