Barrier-free toilets and quiet rooms

There are numerous wheelchair-accessible toilets on campus. You can use one of the quiet rooms for moments of relaxation or to take the strain off your back and legs. These also offer breastfeeding mothers a protected retreat where they can fulfil their needs in pleasant peace and quiet. Overview of the rooms available in the download area.

Uni Stairless

On the campus, the sports campus and around the W building, there are specially adapted paths that are optimised for wheelchair users, for example. You can find a clear overview in the download area: the paths are marked in red, while the entrances are marked with green dots.

Lifts

The university's lifts are located at central points, also known as cores. Three lifts connect building parts B, C and H, others lead from A to B and A to D. Building E offers access from -1 to 5, and there are two lifts at the end of N. There are new lifts in O and Q. Lecture theatres such as H1-H6 and D1-D2 are also accessible by lift

Lecture theatres

The lecture theatres at Paderborn University are generally easily accessible for wheelchair users. However, exceptions are lecture halls A4, D2 (with a special key for the lift), C2 (access from outside) and B1 (or B2).

Gastronomy

The canteen, the AStA premises and the "Grillcafé" can be reached via a lift near the cafeteria. The cafeteria has some tray trolleys for wheelchair users, which make it easier to use the catering facilities.

Parking

Students and prospective students with a disabled person's pass have the option of using designated parking spaces close to the building. If you do not have a pass, you can apply for a temporary pass from and for the university in individual cases. For more information, please send an e-mail to s-m-b@upb.de

Living

Finding accommodation is particularly important for students with disabilities: Which flats are accessible? Who offers support? The Paderborn Student Union rents out barrier-free flats, and the housing market also offers options. However, as demand exceeds supply, we recommend early planning.
